Art de Vivre literally means the Art of Living.

In this page, you can read articles about French lifestyle, clichés, and

the thoughts of a French woman plunged in the Australian culture.

IS THE FRENCH WOMAN FEMINIST?

The 8th of March was International Woman’s Day and this year I must tell you that I was in two minds about the idea of this day. Not that I am not for valuing women and being reminded that women are still victims of inequalities in our “modern” societies but rather because I am sad to notice that we need a day each year to remember that as women we are a part of this world. Shouldn’t we extend this day to the other 364 days of the year?

PARIS MON AMOUR

Ah Paris, seeing Paris again always makes me feel good, city that I’ve been desperately in love with for years. However it’s in Marseille where I grew up, second largest city in France in the South, capital of soccer, in eternal “foot-ballistic” competition with Paris, a strong rivalry that I have to admit sometimes becomes ridiculous. Parisians always envy our sun that they come to borrow in summer, grumbling about our occasional casualness and a bit about the “show-off” attitude.

THE FEMININE FRENCH TOUCH

I found back an old article that I wrote for the magazine French Provincial almost 2 years ago. I wanted to share with you my vision about the Feminine French touch that I love to see and appreciate more and more very day. Because we all need more and more femininity in this world.

A woman always fascinates people by her energy, her sensuality, her power of nurture, and her beauty. As a French woman I try to cultivate this part of femininity by analysing women… And today, I especially want to focus on the enchantment that provokes French women.

ELEGANCE OF THE HEART

“Without elegance of the heart, there is no elegance.” Yves Saint-Laurent

A recent event in my life made me think about a topic dear to my heart that I like to call the “elegance of the heart” and more precisely between women. Quickly, I sadly noticed that some women have the bad habit of judging each other, gossiping, telling lies, always wanting to be in competition with other women. Let me tell you something, IT IS JUST SO INELEGANT, a perfect way to “unlady” yourself.

FRENCH R(EVOLUTION) SPIRIT

Moaner, complainer, protestor, whinger, grumbler, objector and maybe…. Troublemaker… How many times I have heard these terms about French people.

What can I say? Yes, that’s thoroughly true; however I decided to try to understand this statement. I needed to cross the planet to accept what sticks to my culture, this French revolution flowing in my veins.

THE MELBOURNE BUZZ WORD "BUSY"

All of the above events have made me reflect on this so called “busy attitude”.

I have never heard this word used so much as it has here in Melbourne

“Sorry, I'm busy”, “I'm crazy busy”, “Would love to…. But I am busy, man" – What?
